TURMES Jules Nicolas

Jules Nicolas TURMES was born in Körperich/Bitburg in 1858.
In 1882 he married Bertha PAULY, born in Ettelbruck. Bertha was the daughter of a Gendarm.
Jules was a Sattlermeister and Bertha was a Näherin. In 1886 Jules obtained Luxembourg citizenship.
The couple settled in Mersch and had four children. The youngest son, also called Jules (Pierre), followed in his father’s footsteps and became maître sellier.
Jules TURMES (senior) died in Mersch in 1931.
