THEIS Charles

(1863 - )
Diekirch

Charles Theis was born 1863 in Diekirch. His father’s occupation was Ziegelbäcker (briquetier).
THEIS became ferblantier-mécanicien and resided in Diekirch, at least until 1884. He must have emigrated soon after to Montreuil sous Bois (Seine) where he worked as ferblantier.
In 1888 he married in Paris Julie Marie PERSON. The latter was born in Paris and was a couturière. The couple settled in Paris and had two daughters, born in Paris. Julie Marie PERSON died in 1902.
It would appear that Charles THEIS founded a company for ferblanterie in Diekirch in 1914. He presumably returned to his home city with his two daughters.
In 1916 his name appears in the death declaration of his sister in Paris. He gave a Paris address but he presumably still resided in Diekirch as he closed his company there only in 1921. He was 58 years old.
It is not known where and when THEIS died.
