Heinrich Alfred SCHOELLER was François MAJERUS’ partner in the company “F. Majerus & Schoeller” which they operated together in the Colmar Berg foundry in the 1860s, up to the 1879 when SCHOELLER became sole maître des forges.
Heinrich Alfred SCHOELLER was of German origin, born 1834 in Düren, Nordrhein Westfalen. He came to Luxembourg in 1861 and joined MAJERUS in Colmar Berg. He was an Industrieller.
In 1867 he married François MAJERUS’ niece Léonie MARCHAND, born 1847 in Luxembourg-city.
SCHOELLER’s partner François MAJERUS was born Luxembourg-city. His father was greffier de la justice de paix, section du Nord and later became notaire. His mother was Louise KREWINCKEL, born 1794 across the border in Schleiden, Prussia. MAJERUS was a Mineningenieur and lived in the Colmar Berg Castle.
SCHOELLER died in Bonn in 1892, at the age of 58.
Mathias TREINEN took over the management of the foundry in 1894. He was married to SCHOELLER’s daughter Claire.
In 1916 the company was renamed F. MAJERUS & M. TREINEN. It was dissolved, however, soon after, in 1920.
