RUTH Guillaume Joseph

Johann Wilhelm Josef RUTH was born in Luxembourg on 23 October 1776, son of a notary.
He married twice and had a total of 12 children.
He held various positions in the public administration such as Friedensgerichtsschreiber, garde chef des forêts, brigadier des forêts, Sekretär der Forstadministration.
From the birth registrations of his last four children, it is clear that he was temporarily out of work as of 1824; he was recorded as sans profession.
In 1828, however, at the age of 52, he joined the public administration again and became commis au bureau de l’enregistrement des domaines et de la conservation des hypothèques à Diekirch where he was still employed when he applied for a patent in 1843; he was then aged 67.
RUTH died in 1849 in Diekirch.
