ROUYER Jacques André
ROUYER was born in Verdun in 1765.
In 1803 he married Jeanne Louise MORIN in Givonne (Ardennes). ROUYER’s occupation at the time was maître des forges de Laclaireau.
The Forges de Laclaireau were situated close to Ethe/Virton in the extreme southern corner of Belgium, close to the French border.
The factories of the Forges burnt down in April 1794 but were quickly reconstructed before losing importance with the fall of Napoleon in 1814. All activities stopped in 1822.
Betwen 1819 and 1823 ROUYER was member of the Commission de l’Agriculture in the Royaume des Pays-Bas, as representative for the Province de Luxembourg.
In 1828 ROUYER was the owner of “Usines de Pierrard” in Virton.
ROUYER died in 1829 in Carignan (Ardennes).
