NAMUR Joseph

Franz Peter Joseph NAMUR was born in Echternach in 1823. His father’s occupation was Apotheker.
He studied chemistry in Giessen and in 1846 he obtained the authorisation to practise as pharmacien in Luxembourg.
In the same year he married Maria Carolina MÜLLER (b. 1822 in Eich). The couple had eleven children and resided in Echternach.
In 1848 Joseph NAMUR became professeur provisoire de chimie générale, de physique expérimentale et d’agronomie à l’école moyenne et industrielle d’Echternach. He took his retirement in 1887.
Joseph NAMUR died in 1892 in Echternach.
