LEGENER François

François LEGENER was born in Fouhren in 1848, his father Mathias LEGENER (1811-1883) was a local Hufschmied. His mother Katharina WAGNER (1818-1884) was born in nearby Nachtmanderscheid.
François LEGENER became a Schmied and married Marguerite SCHROEDER in 1886. The couple had 5 children. Marguerite died in 1894, soon after the birth of their last child.
In 1895 François LEGENER married Anna Margaretha SCHMITZ with whom he had two more children.
His son Joseph François LEGENER (1892-1970), from the first marriage, carried on the family business in Vianden into the 1960s.
It is not known when François LEGENER (senior) died but it can be established that he was still alive in 1923.
