Nicolas LANSER was born in Arlon in 1836.
In 1860, when LANSER obtained his first patent, together with his associate Jean THIBEAU, he was residing in Reims (55 rue du Faubourg St Denis), where his occupation was fumiste. By 1864 both his parents had died and he was single.
LANSER probably came to Luxembourg in the early 1870s. In 1875 he married Luxembourg-born Theresia ORNIACK. Her father, Charles ORNIACK, was of Ukrainian origin and her mother Anna BORSCHEID was born in Pfaffenthal. Charles ORNIACK was a Schuhmacher.
LANSER set up an atelier in Pfaffenthal (rue de la Porte d’Eich) under the name of LANSER-ORNIACK:
Le soussigné a l’honneur de prévenir le public qu’il confectionne des appareils de chauffage en tout genre:
Tôlerie et Fumisterie, Meubles en fer pour jardins et salons,
Lits en fer de toutes dimensions, en gros et en détail; Fourneaux de cuisine, système économique, de toutes dimensions, pour hôtels et restaurants; Foyers à charbon de terre ou à charbon de bois; Grillade fumée plongeante sans odeur; Grilloires à café et Torréfacteurs à air chaud, produisant une économie de 25 p. c.; le café conserve son arôme et se trouve vanné en le grillant; Calorifères portatifs fonctionnant 12 heures; Buanderies; Etouffoirs, Seaux à charbons; Tuyaux-coudes pour poêles, en gros et en détail, etc., etc.

In 1886 LANSER moved his atelier to 13 rue de l’Arsenal in Luxembourg-city. He advertised his activities as:
Fabrique de fourneaux et cuisine économique, Tôlerie et Poëlerie
It is not known when and where he died.
