KRANZ Gustav

Albin Eduard Gustav KRANZ was born in 1819 in Magdeburg (DE).
From the Baptismal Register of his children it can be deduced that he lived with his family in Magdeburg at least between the years 1848 and 1862.
When the “Sucrerie Fortschritt” factory was founded in Diekirch in 1869 KRANZ was recruited as Zuckersiedemeister (chef-raffineur). He moved to Luxembourg, probably without his family.
In December 1871 he resided in Diekirch (auf der Fabrik) in the household of the family Johann MOLITOR (Geschäftsführer).
In 1872 the “Sucrerie Fortschritt” was already in financial difficulties (demande en sursis de paiement) and was finally liquidated in 1880.
KRANZ must have left Diekirch before 1880 since he is reported being a resident in the USA in 1879 (nach Amerika ausgewandert).
