Dietrich Theodor KOWALSKY’s father, Michel KOWALSKY, was born in Poland in 1795. The latter came to Luxembourg-city as a Prussian military officer (Unteroffizier).
In 1829 he married Luxembourg-born Maria WAGNER.
Dietrich Theodor KOWALSKY was the eighth of the eleven children of the KOWALSKY-WAGNER couple. He was born in Luxembourg-city in 1840 and became a maître-ferblantier.
In 1861 he married Jeanne PEPPINGER, daughter of a fileur de tabac; she was born in Luxembourg-Grund. The couple settled in 3 Münstergasse (Grund), later in Rhamweg (Grund). In 1880 the family resided in 13 Arsenal-Strasse and finally, in 1885, in 18 Theresien-Strasse.
In 1910, at the age of 70, KOWALSKY registered his business in the Company Register as “Dietrich Theodor KOWALSKY, zingeur-ferblantier”.
KOWALSKY died in 1932 in the Fondation Pescatore at the age of 92 years.
