KNEPPER Ferdinand

Ferdinand Nicolas KNEPPER was born in 1888, in Septfontaines (Simmern) where his father was a Gerber.
In 1909, at the age of 21, by then a Mechaniker, KNEPPER took on a job in Algeria.
In 1922 he was resident in Berlin and published a technical book under the title:
Die Fabrikation und Berechnung der modernen Metalldrahtglühlampen, einschliesslich der Spiraldraht- und Halb-Watt-Füllungslampen
Knepper carried the title of Ingenieur.
In the mid-1930s KNEPPER cooperated with the London company “Neograph Limited” for developing “luminous signs”. He was probably still resident in Berlin and acted as consultant.
On 22 April 1940 he signed an employment contract with the Berlin company “C. Lorenz AG”.
In November 1945 KNEPPER’s name appears on the post-war “Liste des rapatriés” from England to Luxembourg (Steinfort). He must have left Berlin for London sometime during WWII.
KNEPPER settled in Diekirch (47 Bahnhofstrasse) in the 1950s.
His wife Mina ASBROCK died in Diekirch in 1953.
KNEPPER’s date and/or place of death could not be established. He was still alive in 1953.
