HOPPE Edgar

Edgar (Boriswitch) HOPPE was born in Moscow (Russia) in 1893.
Edgar took over the management of the Berlin company HOPPE & Co around 1924. The company was specialised in manufacturing machines for the paper and cardboard industry.
From Edgar’s patents his places of residence can be retraced as follows:

1928 Berlin
1935/1936 Amsterdam
1941 Luxembourg
1942- New York

In October 1941 HOPPE set up a wholesale trade for paper goods in Luxembourg-city (11 rue Goethe) under the name of “Hoppe Papierindustrie”.
There is no evidence that the company was long-lived. HOPPE probably left for the USA in 1942/1943.
After 1945 HOPPE regularly visited Europe.
Edgar HOPPE died in Europe in 1977.
