GODCHAUX frères
The GODCHAUX frères were called Guetschlick and Samson GODCHAUX.
They founded around 1830 a textile company in Luxembourg.
They were not inventors but filed a Luxembourg patent (brevet d’importation) based on a French patent.
The inventor of the GODCHAUX Luxembourg patent n° 92 was QUIDET Léon, ingénieur-constructeur from Elbeuf (France). He had obtained two patents in France for a process for treating textiles which the GODCHAUXs wished to patent in Luxembourg and in Germany.
They obtained the rights from QUIDET to file corresponding patents in Luxembourg and Germany.
Through Joseph FRAENKEL (see Addendum) the GODCHAUXs had established by 1880 a close relationship with Elbeuf (France) and its important textile industry.
A French publication even reports that a person by the name of GODCHAUX was director of a textile factory in Elbeuf as early as 1827.
