FLESCH Georg
Georg FLESCH was born in 1864 in Steele/Essen. Around 1884 he married Gertrud LYNEN, born in Aachen. FLESCH was a Minen-Ingenieur.

The FLESCHs came to Luxembourg in 1899 when Georg took on the position of director of the Gaswerk of Esch-sur-Alzette. He lived with his family in the Gaswerk (Luxemburgerstrasse) itself.
In 1901 FLESCH obtained the concession for setting up a Gaswerk in Differdange. (Did he use it)?
In 1912 he resided in Kayl and was director of the Kayl gasworks. In the same year he took over the company of Bernard FLESCH in Kayl with his associate Jean Pierre FRANCK.
The object of the company was:
Vertrieb industrieller Bedarfsartikel, wie Eisen, Kohlen, Koks und Teer, Öle und konsistente Fette, Treibriemen, technische Lederartikel und Seilerwaren usw.
In December 1913, however, he requested that the company be granted a Preventivfalliments-Konkordat and he also resigned from his position in the Kayl gasworks. He became an industriel, and in 1915 founded a company “Comptoir des chaux et dolomite belges” in Luxembourg-Hollerich (Escherstrasse).
In 1920 he sold off his Hollerich property and left Luxembourg for Köln (DE).
FLESCH died prior to 1940.
His wife Gertrud LYNEN died in Esch-sur-Alzette in 1942
