FABRICIUS-HOFFMANN Julian

Julian FABRICIUS was born in 1851 in Grosbous where his father was a Schneider. His mother Catharina THOMMES was a Näherin.
In 1879 Julian FABRICIUS married Maria HOFFMANN, born in Kehlen. Julian’s occupation was Schneider and he was residing in Luxembourg-city at the time.
Julian’s brother Jean Pierre (b. 1861) married Maria’s sister Anna HOFFMANN. Jean Pierre FABRICIUS’ occupation was also Schneider.
In 1907 Julian FABRICIUS formally registered the company “Maison Fabricius-Hoffmann” marchand tailleur in Luxembourg-city (32 Philippstrasse). In 1910, however, he changed the name to “J. Fabricius-Hoffmann, aîné”. At the same time his brother Jean Pierre established an atelier of marchand-tailleur in his own name in 2 boulevard du Viaduc. His son Joseph (b. 1885) was also a Schneider.
Julian’s son Emile FABRICIUS (b. 1887) took over the business in 1924.
Julian FABRICIUS died in 1929 in Luxembourg-city.
