D’HUART Emile
Peter Paul Emil d’HUART was born in Mondorf-les-Bains, son of Gustave d’HUART (1828-1899), a Grenzaufseher and Antoinette CAMPILL (1827-1910), born in Echternach.
Emile d’HUART’s father Gustave was the son of Jean François Joseph Charles d’HUART, baron propriétaire du château de Puttelange-lès-Thionville.
His mother Antoinette CAMPILL was born in Echternach, daughter of a local boucher.
In 1884 Emile d’HUART obtained a doctorat en sciences physiques et mathématiques, went to Berlin as researcher for two years and came back to Luxembourg to become professeur de chimie at the Athénée and later professeur at the Cours Supérieurs de l’École industrielle et commerciale.
He played an active role in the local scientific and official circles as can be seen from his avis mortuaire:

Chevalier de la Couronne de Chêne

He also was the author of many publications (see Addendum).
Emile d’HUART, at the age of 56, died in 1918 in Luxembourg-city (Ausserer Ring 19).
