DAUPHIN Edmond
Nicolas Edmond DAUPHIN was born in Bettembourg in 1878. He was one of the eleven children of the couple Alphonse DAUPHIN – Françoise KAYSER.
Edmond’s father Alphonse DAUPHIN was an Accisenbeamte, and at the same time operated a distillery in Esch-sur-Alzette. In the years 1890-1899 he published three leaflets relating to the Brennereigewerbe.
In 1893 Alphonse DAUPHIN built a distillery for Emanuel SERVAIS in Mersch and in 1900 he took part in the Exposition universelle de Paris where he was awarded a médaille d’argent.
Edmond DAUPHIN grew up in Luxembourg-city and became a conducteur de travaux publics and presumably assisted his father in developing apparatus for the distilling industry.
His career can be summarised as follows:

1933 conducteur des travaux publics Mersch
DAUPHIN retired in 1938 in Mersch.
In 1939 DAUPHIN married (at the age of 61) Maria SCHMIT (aged 41) and the couple had a son. In 1946 the family moved to Luxembourg-Limpertsberg (avenue du Bois).
Edmond DAUPHIN died in Limpertsberg in 1959.
