Dieppe (FR)

Georges Léon Marius BIMONT was born in 1889 in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime). In 1923, when he married Juliette Henriette PLASSAT, he resided in Paris, where he was Inspecteur principal aux Messageries Hachette.
In the 1920s BIMONT came to Luxembourg to become Directeur des Messageries de Journaux Paul Kraus in Luxembourg.
In 1930 he joined Constant VILLIG to create the company “Constant Villig et Cie., Constant Villig et Georges Bimont, succrs.”, the object of the company being “l’exploitation du commerce de gros en articles de confiserie, chocolaterie, biscuiterie et autres articles d’alimentation“. (VILLIG and BIMONT were close neighbours in the Boulevard de la Pétrusse.)
In July 1931 BIMONT was named Conseiller du Commerce extérieur de la France, and soon after, in September 1931, the VILLIG-BIMONT company was dissolved and put into liquidation.
BIMONT probably left Luxembourg around 1940, he was then aged 51.
He died in his home town Dieppe in 1964.
