DONNER Charles

Charles DONNER was born in 1882 in Losange/Bastogne.
His father Lionel Frédéric Emile DONNER (1840-1923) was a propriétaire and was married to Julie Anne Charlotte Marie CHARMET (1852-1935). The couple had 14 children.
In 1897 Lionel DONNER founded the “Ardoisières L. Donner” in Martelange/Belgium. He converted the company into a société anonyme in 1906 but kept 750 shares of the 900 shares issued:

La société a pour objet en général, l’exploitation de gisements ardoisiers de toutes industries et operations commerciales, se rapportant à cette exploitation et spécialement, l’extraction, la fabrication et le commerce des ardoises.

In 1923, a few months before he died, Lionel DONNER distributed his shares among this children. His son Charles DONNER, a qualified engineer, became the largest shareholder of the company and took on the responsibility of administrateur-délégué. Charles was married to Mariette KUBORN, born in 1900 in Martelange (BE).
Charles DONNER died in Martelange/Belgium in 1932 at the age of 49.
