BECKER Eugène

Eugène BECKER, was born in 1907 in Mamer. His father was a local Schuster.
Eugène became mécanicien. He also was an excellent amateur cyclist around the 1920s. He resided in Cessange.
He married Joséphine LINDEN in 1929 and, at about the same time, he opened a retail and repair bicycle shop on Place de Hollerich which he transferred soon after to 78 route de Hollerich. He added a bicycle manufacturing site to his activities.
He sold the bicycles he built under the name “Eugen Becker”.
BECKER left Luxembourg for Brazil around 1949 and subsequently took up residence in Johannesburg (South Africa) where he died on 4 January 1981 (“from an intestinal obstruction”).
