Auguste Félix AREND was born in Capellen (Mamer) in 1902. His father Paul Félix AREND (1870-1952) was a medical doctor in Capellen until 1929 when he moved to Luxembourg-city.
His mother Anna Maria PRAUM (1874-1936) was the daughter of Auguste PRAUM (1831-1885) a merchant in rue Beaumont in the centre of Luxembourg-city.
Félix AREND (junior) started off studying law but qualified in 1926 as licencié en sciences commerciales at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Paris.
He set up as consultant under the title of ingénieur-conseil. He also actuated as administrateur de sociétés.
In 1935 he set up an office in the boulevard du Viaduc as ingénieur, conseil en propriété industrielle.
AREND took part in the creation of a number of patent holdings in Luxembourg, for which a legal framework had been established in 1922.
His hobby was aeronautics (founding member of the Aéro-Club du Gr.-D. de Luxembourg) and he was a leading member of the Union européenne des fédéralistes.
AREND married Henriette ACHTEN in 1970, at he age of 68, two weeks before he died.
