NEUEN-THERER Grégoire
NEUEN was born 1825 in the heart of Luxembourg-city (272 rue marché aux herbes), as son of a sellier. His mother Angelica BOURLET was of rather poor origin, daughter of a “civis sartoris hujus urbis” (supported citizen of the city).
NEUEN’s wife, Julie THERER, was the daughter of a huissier de salle au Gouvernement provincial. Both her parents were born in the Belgian province of Luxembourg (Houfallize, Bastogne).
NEUEN became a Schlossermeister and lived in the old part of Luxembourg-city with his growing family of eleven children, successively at the following addresses:
288 Nord Gasse (1850)
7 Nord Gasse (1855)
11 Philippus Gasse (1858)
3 Kohlen Gasse (1860 to 1866)
When NEUEN applied for a patent in 1865 his occupation was fabricant de meubles en fer.
NEUEN died in 1903 in Luxembourg-city (8 avenue Monterey).
