Edmond DE LA FONTAINE (alias Dicks) was born in Luxembourg-city (place Guillaume) in 1823.
In 1850 he qualified and practised as a lawyer. In 1858 he married Elise DUTREUX and set up a weaving factory in Remich in the former Fabrique LEFORT. The family DE LA FONTAINE lived on the site.
In 1863 Edmond and family moved into the castle of Stadbredimus which Edmond had inherited from his aunt.
The weaving factory ran into financial difficulties and in 1872 DE LA FONTAINE put the premises in Remich up for sale by auction.
In 1879 he was named juge suppléant à la justice de paix of Remich and in 1881 he was named juge de paix in Vianden.
Edmond DE LA FONTAINE died 1891 in Vianden.
