BOUVIER Théodore Arthur

Théodore BOUVIER was born in Clervaux in 1849. He later took on the double name of Théodore Arthur and finally used only the name Arthur (at least as of 1875).
His father Leopold BOUVIER (1815-1879) was a Gerber in Clervaux. The latter was born in Bastogne but was of Luxembourg descent.
Théodore BOUVIER followed in his father’s footsteps and became fabricant-tanneur in Clervaux. He was married to Adèle SERVAIS.
His father Léopold BOUVIER was a public figure, bourgmestre of Clervaux and député representing the Canton de Clervaux in the mid 1850s.

Arthur also entered national politics in 1875 and was elected to the Chambre des députés for the following periods: 1875-1881, 1887-1892 and 1909-1911.
Théodore (genannt Arthur) BOUVIER died in 1914 in Clervaux.
