KIHN Nicolas
Nicolas KIHN was born in 1866 in Rumelange. His father was a Landwirt.
KIHN joined the Dudelange steelworks “Eisenhütten-Aktien-Verein Düdelingen”.
In 1898, when he married Barbara HENGESCH, his occupation was Betriebschef.
He took part in Dudelange local politics and in 1906 became échevin of the city of Dudelange. His occupation at the time was chef d’exploitation.
KIHN later advanced to ingénieur en chef in the Dudelange steelworks, operating under the name of ARBED.
From the membership list of the “Société des naturalistes luxembourgeois” it can be deduced that he retired in 1931 at the age of 65.
In 1932 his occupation became ingénieur-conseil.
His wife Barbara HENGESCH, with whom he had 2 girls, died in 1924.
Nicolas KIHN died in January 1944 in Dudelange.
