MAJERUS Pierre

Pierre MAJERUS, born in 1855 in Nommern, was the son of Nicolas MAJERUS, Feldhüter. Pierre was first a mécanicien and later became an Eisenhändler.
In 1884 he married Catherine SCHALBAR, daughter of an Ackerer in Dudelange.
The couple MAJERUS-SCHALBAR settled in Dudelange where they set up an “Eisenhandlung u. Construktionswerkstätte” under their double family name. They had 10 children born between 1885 and 1901.
The MAJERUS-SCHALBAR trade name became well known in the Dudelange area.
MAJERUS retired in 1921 from his business, and died in 1923. In his death announcement, his occupation was given as industriel.
